Raifa monastery The Raifa Monastery of the Mother of God (Raifsky Bogoroditsky Monastery) is one of the most beautiful sightseeing places of Tatarstan Republic. It is a monastery for men located not far from Kazan. The monastery was established in 1613. This architectural complex, despite all the upheavals experienced, restorations and add-ins, almost completely retained its original shape to our days. The monastery is the largest in the Diocese of Kazan and Tatarstan. There are many legends associated with the monastery, one of which reveals the reason that visitors never hear the croaking of frogs on the shore, where the monastery is located.

Sviyazhsk island-town Sviyazhsk is an ancient fortress built in the times of Ivan the Terrible. It served as a military outpost for soldiers to have rest and get ready to attack impregnable Kazan fortress. After conquering Kazan the island-town continued to live and tell its memorials about the best and difficult times. In Sviyazhsk you can feel the spirit of life and history in every monument, streets and corners, magnificent churches etc.

State historical architectural culture preserve in Bulgaria Bulgar is the historical preserve on the place of the former ancient capital. Here are well-preserved ancient mosques, mausoleum, khan burial vault etc. This is a sacred place for Muslims. All the monuments are situated on a beauty spot of the river bank; this unique landscape shows that our forefathers could choose the best places for building. People who lived here called themselves Bulgars and the modern tartars are their descendants. In 1722 Peter the Great visited Bulgar and by his order all the ancient buildings were saved until our days.

Day 1  Arrival to Kazan by train. Meeting with a guide. Breakfast at the local cafe/hotel’s restaurant. City tour around Kazan with visiting the Kremlin: the Kazan University, Kazan Millennium Park, a Tatar village Tugan Avylym in the city center, Ekiyat puppet theater, Liberty Square, Kazanka river embankment, offering unique views of the coast of the Kazan Riviera, Kazan Family enter, Millenium Bridge, Kazan Arena Stadium. Lunch at the local restaurant. Optional visit to Chak-Chak museum with tea party with tartar traditions (1 hour). Transfer to hotel and free time

Day 2 Breakfast at the hotel’s restaurant (buffet). Meeting with a guide. Tour to the UNESCO Island Town of Sviyazhsk with the stop at the “Temple of all Religions” (outside view).. Back to Kazan and transfer to the restaurant for lunch. lunch at the local restaurant. Free time. Overnight at hotel
